KB: How to Increase an Email Quota in cPanel
This guide explains how to adjust the storage quota for an email account using the cPanel interface. Increasing a quota is necessary when an email account is nearing its storage limit and can no longer send or receive new messages.
Step 1: Log In to cPanel
First, log in to your cPanel account. You can typically do this by navigating to yourdomain.com/cpanel and entering your credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to Email Accounts
In the cPanel dashboard, locate the Email section and click on the Email Accounts icon. This will take you to a page that lists all the email addresses associated with your domain.
Step 3: Manage the Email Account
Find the email address for which you want to increase the quota in the list. On the right side of that email account's row, click the Manage button.
Step 4: Adjust the Quota
On the management page for that email account, you will see a section for Allocated Storage Space.
Enter a new value: You can either type in a new, higher number for the quota in megabytes (MB).
Select Unlimited: Alternatively, you can choose the Unlimited option if you want to remove the quota limit for that specific email address.
Remember that the total storage for all your email accounts cannot exceed the total disk space allocated to your entire hosting package.
Step 5: Save the Changes
After you have entered the new quota or selected "Unlimited," scroll down and click the Update Email Settings button to save your changes. The new quota will be applied immediately.
